哈工大信息检索研究室 (HIT IR Lab) 成立于 2001 年 3 月1日，隶属于计算机科学与技术学院。信息检索研究室主任为刘挺教授，研究人员包括张宇副教授、秦兵副教授和车万翔讲师/博士生。
目前，哈工大信息检索研究室的研究方向包括文本检索、文本挖掘、语言分析、复述与翻译和基础理论五个方面，研究室以认知心理学和机器学习为理论，以语言分析为基础研究，以信息抽取、文本检索、复述与翻译为应用研究，以垂直搜索为应用系统平台。研究室已完成和现承担的国家自然科学基金、国家863、国际合作、企业合作等课题三十余项。在这些项目的支持下已打造出“语言技术平台LTP”。
